Odissi with Pracheeti Dange
‘Get a brief glimpse of the 2000 year old tradition of Odissi with Pracheeti Dange. A dance form known for it’s lyrical, graceful and sensual movements and it’s sculpturesque poses.
The workshop will introduce participants to:
– Odissi warm-up exercises
– Fundamental Stances/Postures of Odissi
– Basic steppings in Chowk and Tribhang
Pracheeti Dange is a renowned and established Odissi dancer from India and now settled in London. With more than 15 years of experience in Odissi and she has performed in many prestigious concerts and festivals all over. Recently she was invited to perform at the Illuminating India concert at the Science Museum attended by HRH Prince Charles and the Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi. An empanelled artist with the ICCR, she has been privileged to have been selected as Top Ten Talents at the Odissi International, and has been bestowed with the NATIONAL ‘Pride of India’ – Bhaskar award, Odissi Prativa award, Odissi Jyoti award among many others.
Pracheeti has been teaching Odissi for the past 10 years and has also established “PRACHEETI ODISSI DANCE ACADEMY” where she imparts training to young and promising Odissi dancer.
The participants need to being notebook and water bottle.
